Distribution of Student Belongings
Isador Cohen Families,
I hope you are all keeping safe and well.
I would like to share the plan for distributing student belongings and collecting library and textbooks with you this evening, and assure you that every appropriate precaution will be taken to follow CDC, SCPH, and SIA recommendations, as well as the Governor’s Executive Order, so that we do this safely.
As we did during our Chromebook distribution, our plan is to distribute to families through drive-thru stations along our circular driveway at the front entrance of the school. If you are planning to walk, we will be strictly applying social distancing guidelines in order to keep everyone safe and healthy, which means waiting at least six feet away from the person in front of you. When you enter the driveway there will be three stations, indicated by cones. Pull up to next available cone. Be prepared to show your ID and indicate your student’s name and teacher. Please remain in your car. A staff member will gather your belongings and deliver them to your car. If you have any library books or textbooks to return, staff will collect them at that time. We would also strongly encourage you to wear face masks to protect yourselves and others during the distribution.
Please look carefully for the name of your child’s teacher and time/day distribution window:
Wednesday, June 10th: 10:00 – 11:00 am – Allen, Shin and VanWormer
Wednesday, June 10th: 11:30 -12:30 pm – Ramos, Young, Zarza and Hubble
Thursday, June 11th: 10:00-11:30 am – Banks, Sullivan and Freese
Please do not come before your window, as your child’s teacher will not have had the opportunity to be on campus to get student belongings ready for distribution. If you have multiple children at Cohen, please come during the last of your children’s windows if you want to collect all belongings at the same time.
Please bring patience and positivity with you, as these will help ensure the distributions go smoothly.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me at Belinda-Bridgewater@scusd.edu or call my cell phone: (916) 752-3111.
Please note that we are NOT collecting Chromebooks from all students at this time. Your student will have the opportunity to continue learning over the summer by utilizing i-Ready. We recommend that students use i-Ready for 1 hour per day, 30 minutes for reading and 30 minutes for math. However, if you are leaving the district, please return your Chromebook during your distribution window.
Once again, thank you for your time and attention and for your patience next week. I look forward to seeing many of you.
Take care,
Ms. Bridgewater
